THE PRACTICE

A closer look.

Kids’ yoga introduces movement and moments of quiet through play. At Akasa, we are preparing a welcoming space for children to explore simple yoga shapes, balance, imagination and gentle breath awareness. The guide below explains the kind of experience families can ask about. The studio will confirm suitable age groups, the teaching team and the timetable before you book.

What to expect

01

Begin with a friendly welcome and simple movements to become familiar with the room and the group.

02

Explore yoga shapes through stories, animal-inspired movement, balance games and imaginative sequences, adjusted to the age group.

03

Wind down with gentle stretching, a short guided rest or a quiet listening activity, giving children time to finish at a calmer pace.

Is this your kind of class?

For families looking for an introduction to yoga through an age-appropriate group experience. Children do not need previous yoga experience or advanced flexibility. Each child approaches a new activity differently; tell the team about their age, experience and practical support needs before choosing a session.

A children’s practice, with room for play

A kids’ session is different from an adult yoga class. Instructions can be shorter, activities more varied and movement linked to stories or games. Children may explore a tree balance, an animal shape or a gentle stretch, with space for imagination rather than an expectation of perfect postures. The planned activity and pace should match the group.

What children can practise

The class offers opportunities to notice how their body moves, take turns, follow simple movement cues and explore the difference between active and quiet moments. A breathing activity may simply mean noticing a comfortable breath; it does not need forceful breathing or long breath holds. Participation can be gradual, and a child can ask for help or a pause.

Information for parents and carers

Before booking, confirm the age group, instructor, class length, capacity, price and whether a parent stays for the session. Agree drop-off and collection arrangements directly with the studio. If your child needs particular support, discuss it privately with the team so they can confirm what the session can accommodate.

A comfortable first visit

Allow time to find the studio and introduce your child to the team. Explain that it is an activity to explore, rather than something they need to get right straight away. The studio is at Loft Offices, Building 2, G05, Dubai Media City. Mats, water and free parking for class attendees are available.

Ask about the next group

Message Akasa with your child’s age and your preferred days. The team will confirm the available group and practical arrangements. Dates, prices and age bands will appear in the booking details once confirmed; an enquiry on this page does not make a booking.

Before you arrive

Choose comfortable clothes that allow easy movement. Yoga mats and water are provided at Akasa, so children do not need to bring their own. Ask the team about arrival, footwear and the arrangements for parents before your first session. Free parking is available for members and class attendees any day, any time of the week, making the class visit simpler for families.
